Inspired by The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee…I wouldn’t call myself a royalist, but I was swept away with all the celebrations with this momentous occasion. So here is my tribute to Queenie. The idea was to create a look for guest going to a jubilee garden party, as long as the rain stayed away! A second look a rock chic style for the evening.
I choose to design a crown effect for the front of Annabel as this gave a perfect bodice shape, then continued onto the back with the bodice effect. Enhanced with a bit of bling of course using diamond gem shapes, pearls and highlighted with gold shimmer paint. Stylish bunting, delicate patterened dollies, 2 union jack flags and a paper tablecloth all completed the very ‘haute couture’ outfits .
Huge thanks to Clare Watkins who helped me with the styling, Amanda Thomas www.amango.co.uk capturing the gorgeous model Annabel who allowed me to paint her. All had to wait patiently for almost 4 hours – hair and make-up took me 45 minutes. It was fantastic to watch everthing come together.
Body painting never seizes to amaze me. I’m currently working on more body painting projects. Also this year, I’m looking forward to have a body painting exhibition to help raise funds for forget-me-not appeal in memory of the beautiful Laura Willmott www.justgiving.com/Victoria-Townsend2/ABC raising awareness and funding for ABC Anorexia & Bulimia Care.
